BONANZA ™

"THE BONANZA" is FST's Disruptive Green Technology of the "Biological Organic Natural Atmospheric Nitrification Zyme Accelerator" (acronym BONANZA™). In the commercial system, the BONANZA is a huge room with complex machinery. In your backyard the unit fits just outside of your 10 X 10 greenhouse. The fish waste sludge and left over harvested vegetables are removed to the BONANZA™ which replaces the need for expensive industrial fertilizer to feed the plants. This BONANZA™ system has been proven to produce vegetables that qualify as organic, are healthy, with greater flavor, no disease, and lowers overall production costs.

Food Security Technology, Inc. has developed a new and innovative utility that recycles nitrogen stored in organic waste material, by accelerating the Biological Nitrogen Fixation process to produce liquid fertilizer for the plant's immediate use. The BONANZA™ (Biological Organic Natural Atmospheric Nitrification Zyme Accelerator) is currently being patented. The unit instantly produces what FST believes provides the most nutrient rich plant fertilizer known to mankind.

FST is currently partnering with local universities to study our process and fertilizer results. A search for a similar patent abstract at the patent’s office revealed nothing even close to this concept. In fact the Haber-Bosch industrial process of manufacturing “Urea” (Industrial Fixed Nitrogen), discovered in 1913 has never been challenged nor improved upon until now.

The uniqueness of the BONANZA™, uses the natural Biological Nitrogen Fixation process, coupled with the less known, natural Atmospheric Nitrogen Fixation process and utilizes a 100% of the existing nitrogen in the organic compost material to produce all the essential plant protein, vitamins, minerals and microbes. Gardeners that make “worm tea” or compost leachate are familiar with water application to the compost however, the majority of gardeners use their compost material after months of natural decomposition without applying any water whatsoever. This is because they are not aware of any other accelerated process and apply their experience of the aerobic compost system that takes at least 3 to 6 months to harvest, precious time that a commercial growing operation cannot afford.

The application of water stops aerobic nitrifying bacteria activity. Nitrifying bacteria are bacteria that convert compost waste into nitrite which then needs oxygen from the air to complete the denitrification process before the nitrogen compound changes to nitrate and becomes plant available and/or return to the atmosphere.

The BONANZA™ uses much faster, working nitrifying bacteria that functions under water in an anaerobic environment. Because of the enriched oxygenated leachate water, these bacteria are able to convert the nitrogen compound into plant available fertilizer without any loss of nitrogen. Without the enriched oxygen leachate water in the compost, the anaerobic nitrifying bacteria would normally die off and create the very toxic and smelly compost that people avoid and therefore do not water their compost.

The BONANZA™ compost machine will be developed for mass production within the first year of this project and built as a stand-alone unit with solar power for remote locations. With a water supply garden hose line attached, the unit will be ready for use. The unit will form part of the Suburban Aquafarm™ or it could be sold on its own. The unit retail price of the BONANZA™ alone is approximately $2,000. The Bonanza™ patent application is completed and will be filed with the Patent’s Office shortly.

This patent pending utility makes use of normal kitchen and green waste, this being the primary nitrogen source, mixed with an equal amount by volume of brown backyard organic debris such as garden weeds, lawn clippings, leaves, tree branches, cardboard, shredded paper, as the carbon source and to balance the compost mix. Animal manure, bio-dynamic compost material is desired to provide live beneficial bacterial and filtered water, as the primary and only source of nitrogen fertilizer.

This material is placed into our uniquely designed compost silo with red wiggler worms. The silo is fitted with our patent pending biological nitrogen fixation accelerator which speeds up decomposition, to produce 1 to 2 gallons daily of "nutrient rich liquid", which includes both inorganic (e.g., ammonia (NH3), nitrate (NO3-)) and organic (e.g., amino and nucleic acids) forms. This liquid is automatically delivered to the bio-filter which mixes with the toxic ammonia rich fish wastewater which is all converted by anaerobic nitrifying bacteria, accelerated by the highly oxygenated liquid, to produce a nutrient dense liquid fertilizer, perfect for plants' complete health.

The nutrient liquid fertilizer is then cycled through the combination of nutrient film technique (NFT), pipes that are uniquely designed polyethylene, drip-line and floating raft systems to ensure seeds as well as small and larger plants receive their share of nutrients. The liquid is recycled through the BONANZA™ to be replenished with new nutrients to maintain the highest nutrient plant fertilizer possible.

NITROGEN FIXATION

There are 3 types of Nitrogen fixation of which the BONANZA™ used the two naturally occurring:

Industrial Nitrogen Fixation employs the Haber-Bosch process which leaves a huge carbon footprint in the process of manufacturer. It requires massive expenditure of energy to obtain the required extreme temperature and pressures to produce synthetic fertilizer known as urea.

Industrial Fertilizer represents about 25% of all Nitrogen Fixation. Biological Nitrogen Fixation is the natural decomposition of organic material through numerous types of nitrogen fixing bacteria collectively called diazotrophs (nitrogen eaters) which accounts for approximately 65% of all nitrification.

Abiotic or Atmospheric Nitrogen Fixation is a natural occurring phenomena that fixes nitrogen during lightning discharges. The enormous energy of lightning, breaks nitrogen molecules and enables their atoms to combine with oxygen in the air forming nitrogen oxides. These dissolve in rainwater, forming nitrates, that are easily absorbed by plants.
